Moran State Park + Oddfellows Wedding

Hannah + Liam | Moran State Park, Washington

Some weddings feel especially satisfying to witness — not because they are elaborate, but because they are deeply personal. Hannah and Liam’s wedding at Oddfellows Hall on Orcas Island was exactly that: thoughtful, creative, and grounded in love, family, and tradition.

Inspired by Hannah’s German heritage, their celebration followed a traditional cake-and-coffee wedding, a format that felt refreshingly intentional and welcoming. Guests gathered in the historic Oddfellows Hall, a classic Orcas Island venue that lends itself beautifully to intimate weddings and community-centered celebrations.

MORAND STATE PARK on Orcas Island

Moran State Park gave us a quiet pause in the middle of the celebration — a peaceful waterfall, cool forest air, and a little time to slow down and connect. Just the two of them, taking it all in.

Hannah is an artist in the truest sense

, and her creativity shaped nearly every detail of the day. She designed and sewed her own wedding gown, baked the wedding cake, and even crafted Liam’s belt and watch band. The décor throughout the space was painted by Hannah herself.

Oddfellows Hall continues to be one of my favorite venues in the San Juan Islands for couples who want something relaxed, creative, and community-oriented. Hannah and Liam’s day was a perfect example of how meaningful a wedding can be when it reflects who you truly are.

If you’re planning an intimate celebration and looking for a San Juan Islands wedding photographer who values storytelling, artistry, and real moments, weddings like this are exactly why I love what I do.
